“The Briny Deep” Print
Curling its tentacles around a tattered anchor, this octopus guards its sunken treasure at the bottom of the ocean.
It had been years and years since my last octopus drawing, with the main stumbling block being my inability to come up with a decent concept. I liked the anchor idea, and enjoyed the moodiness that it invoked. I carried this into the appearance of the octopus, which have always looked a little shifty to me (what with their narrowed eyes).
I quickly remembered why I don’t draw these creatures that often. The detail was immense and arduous; not a square centimeter was left untouched! Still, the effect turned out great and is a wonderful successor to my original piece.
