“Muerto Groom” Print
From $5
An impressively grand portrait of a Dia de los Muertos groom, surrounded by an meticulously detailed border of traditional marigold flowers and critters native to Mexico and the southwestern United States.
Description
Not long after I did the “Muerta Bride” piece, I thought it would be cool to do a companion piece of the groom. Instead of roses I chose to do marigolds, which are a traditional flower of Day of the Dead ceremonies and festivities. Detailing them to my standards was quite a grueling task, as each flower has dozens of individual petals.
I populated the border with a different array of critters—Monarch butterflies, field crickets, and Wolf spiders.
