A bold and striking Día de los Muertos face!
As much as I love color and applying it in my art, it’s not something I think too much about. That probably makes me sound like kind of bad/lazy artist, but what I mean is that color is something I tend to do instinctively. My choices are usually bold and simple; when it comes time for the digital stage of the process, I’ll do a fair to extreme amount of fiddling to get the look I’m after.
It’s all part of the process and not something I typically agonize over; it usually comes together on its own. Other times, not. In the case of this image, what I originally envisioned ended up not quite working out, so I set forth on an exciting journey of color and hue and decided to incorporate that exploration into the final result.
